Leaf Miner Trails

Leaf miners, usually the larvae of butterflies, beetles, and flies, have a distinctive way of feeding on plants. They live between the two outer surfaces of a leaf, consuming the inner plant tissue and leaving a characteristic pattern of dropping-filled tunnels.
